Oh to live the Life

So last night while Aurora and Rayann and I were washing the dishes, actually Aurora was washing the dishes, we had a great conversation.

"So something serious happened today." said Aurora

"Oh ya, what was that?" I questioned

" Well there is this boy in grade 1." she said as if she were a grade 4 student and that grade 1ers were so below her.

"And he got into so much trouble today he got in trouble twice, TWICE! Mom" she said as if that has never happened on the face of the planet before.

" Really?? What did he do??" I asked without sounding to ambivalent.

"Well it happened at the slide, that's where everyone was playing, it was just so busy at the slide today" she continued.

And this my folks is where I absolutely fell in love with the conversation. A boy got in trouble twice at the slide because it was the happening place to be, the end all be all of the grade 1 realm. Oh to live the life of a first grader, where a boy getting into trouble at the slide is big news!! Not only was he pushing kids but he was butting in line as well and to top it of he got in trouble 2 times. Tough time at school yesterday. I don't remember the trials of grade 1 in my own life but I think I will always remember my daughter exasperating her recollection of the day the boy got in trouble 2 times on the slide.

I guess we all should have been there.

Here we go!

So a month ago I was contacted by My Memory Suite , a digital scrapbooking software company. They asked me if I would be interested in checking out their product and then doing a review for them on my blog. So here I am and I gotta tell you I love what they've got! First of all I'm not a scrapbooker (at least not a good one). I love the look of scrapbooking and I wish I was better at it but I struggle greatly on the 2 dimensional plain. 3D I can do, but I struggle with 2D. Anyways, this program is great for me. There are two great aspects of it that work well for me. First of all they have pages that are already made, put together and ready to go you just drop your pictures into the frames and voila! your done. The second aspect that I really like is that if you are wanting to build your own page you can put stuff on the page and take stuff off without any hassle. If your working with glue and papers things can get messy and expensive. Here it's just click and drag and you...

I'm a Perfectionist

I'm a Perfectionist and it's killing me. But the first step to solving a problem is admitting that you have one. That being said, it's not actually killing me but there are moments when it feels like it is. What can I say, I like order, I like it to be done promptly and without deviating from how I want it. (My kids just don't seem to get it) Being the mother of 3 older daughters and then a son, I thought I had the 'terrible twos' figured out. I DON'T! Boys are so different from girls. Now I don't need you to shake your head at me and roll your eyes and say 'DUH' but really they are so different. It started about 2 weeks ago when Gage started getting into mischief when I was nursing the baby. O.K. whatever, but it's only escalating and I know that the biggest reason for it is Archer (the baby) but what can I do about it. When I'm tied up nursing the baby I'm nursing the baby I can't be chasing a 2 year old. Yesterday was a prime...

Oh, Very Crafty!

I have battled my own form of self inflicted depression... essentially not allowing myself to find joy in things that I do because in my sub conscious mind I must not give any of my energy to anything other than tending to and rearing my children. This is even more brazen in my face when my husband is working away from home. I have been able to find some peace in my soul and with the help my Father in Heaven, some self reflection, and  Young Living Essential Oils , I've been able to feel like I can give some energy to things that bring me joy. Well tonight, after a week and a half of trying to find the things I wanted, I created a fall wreath for my house! I love it! My sister called me while I was working... I will confess that I was watching an Ashley Tisdale chick flick while I was crafting and I almost squealed with delight to tell her I was crafting!! It feels so great. So will out further adieu I present my new fall wreath!
