Expanding the breath of Life

So for the very first time in 60 years my grandparents, Vern and Kaye Seely had a family reunion for just their family! What a great weekend. Now before I get into details about the fun we had I do have to say that I really wished that there was more of our family there. We seemed to be lacking a number of cousins from the states. This will have to be rectified at the next one. So we got together in southern alberta at Aunt Charlene's, which she's not really my aunt but she's mom's best friend and she happens to be her cousin as well so she's and aunt. Uncle Brian, Aunt Judy, Bree and her husband Jared, Alexa, and Ethan came from Nevada. Aunt Sandy and Sheila came from Montana and then all of the canadians were there. (of course we would all be there.... we rock!!)
We started the reunion off with a 60th Wedding Anniversary Open House in Stirling where Brittney re-created their wedding cake. Aunt Sandy had created a slide show of hundreds of pictures (the show took 35 minutes). It was great to visit with the extra family that came that night. Friday and Saturday was all reunion stuff. Food, of course, games, or course, visiting, of course, and any other typical reunion stuff!
Saturday afternoon we sat down and had grandma and grandpa share stories from their life. I think all total we recorded about an hour and half of them talking about their lives but it wasn't near enough. I could have sat their for 4 or more hours listening to them talk about their lives. As soon as I can figure out my video camera I'm gonna get some of the video up here. Start saving your pennies for the next one because I can't wait. I love my Seely family!!

Here we go!

So a month ago I was contacted by My Memory Suite , a digital scrapbooking software company. They asked me if I would be interested in checking out their product and then doing a review for them on my blog. So here I am and I gotta tell you I love what they've got! First of all I'm not a scrapbooker (at least not a good one). I love the look of scrapbooking and I wish I was better at it but I struggle greatly on the 2 dimensional plain. 3D I can do, but I struggle with 2D. Anyways, this program is great for me. There are two great aspects of it that work well for me. First of all they have pages that are already made, put together and ready to go you just drop your pictures into the frames and voila! your done. The second aspect that I really like is that if you are wanting to build your own page you can put stuff on the page and take stuff off without any hassle. Fruit

So the home that we purchased in Creston sits on 2.44 acres. I think it may have been a full fledged orchard back in the day but now it's just our own little piece of paradise. We have Apples, Peaches, Pears, Plums, Prunes, Apricots, Cherries, Walnuts, Hazelnuts, and Raspberries. In the short 2 weeks that we have been here we have already harvested fruit off the land. I don't have any pictures of the cherries but here is a picture of the apricots we picked up off the ground. The fruit on the tree isn't quite ripe yet but these ones have been fabulous! This is one of my peach trees. It has quite a bit of fruit on it this year. I hope that it will continue to increase it's production over the years. I can't wait for them to ripen. They are still quite tiny but I've been watering them so hopefully they will plump up. There are a couple of different kind of apple trees on the property. I couldn't tell you which one is which. Discussions of the future

My oldest had the opportunity to attend a University and College tour in Lethbridge for the past 3 days. With her return home this evening we had the lovely opportunity to discuss school options and life after high school. How did I get here?? I can't believe that I'm having this kind of a discussion with my 15 year old. What a wonderful evening. We talked about trying to decide what kind of courses you want to take and trying to find a school that matches what you are wanting to learn and study. I feels like it was only yesterday that I was trying to make these same decisions. What do I want to learn and where do I want to go? As the queen of my domain I have been moving forward in life raising kids and doing the day to day things that have to be done. All of a sudden time has caught up to me and we are discussing schools, post secondary education, life at college/university. We talked about people that we can ask questions about different career choices. We talked...
