This is what a Home-Owner looks like!

So after we had moved in I was putting some stuff under the sink and sure enough there was a leak. So Daniel had to do some plumbing the very first day!! Look at him...... he's so happy, being a home-owner!! I love my husband... it's great that he's a Millwright, he has some plumbing, welding, and electrical knowledge.... can't go wrong with that.

The BIG News!!

For those of you that aren't aware, we did it!! We bought a house. We have already moved. It all started back in November. We recieved yet another rental increase. When we first moved into our townhouse in Edmonton we were paying $720/mth. Each year we would receive another increase, as frustrating as it was. It always seemed that Daniel would finish another year of his apprenticeship and get a pay increase and then we'd get a rental increase. Well the increase that we received in the end of November brought our rent up to $1010/mth. The proverbial 'it' hit the fan. We were fed up and decided that it was time to do something about it. Things had already been changing for us. Daniel had transfered out to Nisku in October because there was more work for him there. He has absolutley loved the new environment. The shop is more laid back and the guys are easier to get along with. This move to Nisku ment that he had to start getting up a little earlier but he's always bee...

Is it to Late?!

So I know it's the 10th of February but is it to late make a New Year's Resolution?? I resolute to blog more!! There I got it off my chest.... I can breathe better now. So what have I been up to for the past 4 months you ask?? Well really not a whole tonne of anything but the general everyday stuff. I haven't taken any great pictures of my kids, as pointed out by Brittney. She pointed out recently. I haven't seen most of my family since our Seely family reunion on the August long weekend. Well that was quite a while ago so I guess I should update some pictures as well. But basically this is my official kick off to 2011. :) Expect that your going to see more!!

Make something old, new~ish again!

So after a few times being handed down the sleeves were much to stretched out to be worth anything. I decided I was going to do something about it. This is what I ended up doing. So I measured the sleeves and marked where the sleeve would hit my daughter mid sleeve. Then I just cut the sleeves off straight across. I measured the width of the sleeve and decided that I wanted the full length plus 1" extra for turning under. So I cut 9" of ribbon. I turned the edge under 1/4" so that I would have enough at both ends. Then I pinned it all the way around. I used to be an anti-pinner but I've learned the error of my ways ( Well only when it comes to some things! ;) Pinned where I butted the ends up together on the under arm at the seam. I have the worst lighting in my basement. But this is the sewing. I am sewing it with the fabric up so that I'm sure to catch the fabric to the lace. Here is the finished sleeves. It's a way better alternative to the sloppy, raggy s...

Well WONDERS never cease!!

So Aurora has been talking all summer about wanting to cut her hair and donate it. I so totally forgot to take a before picture but here is her after picture!! She cut 10 inches off to donate to cancer. They take the hair and make wigs for people that have lost their hair to chemotherapy.

Growning when I'm not looking!

So I hate being a follower but considering that it was Rayann's first year of school and that she is officially a kindergartener.... I figured I'd better post some first day of school pictures. My mom took pictures every year of us as well so I guess I don't fall far from the tree. Aurora started grade 2 this year. She absolutely loves French-Immersion and didn't take her long to get back into the swing of things. She is so wonderful and smart I don't know what I would do without her in our family!! Rayann is quick and witty and sharp as a tack. She is the apple of every guys eye (daddy, grandpa's and uncles) Just a cute one of them together. We are going to be in so much trouble when these two get to be teenagers!! I think Rayann is going to be knockout when she gets older. That being said we already are having problems with Aurora!! hahaha..... I know I shouldn't be laughing but really?!

Maybe one day

So I keep saying that I'm going to put some pictures up here of the stuff that I have done. Always while I'm working on it I think that "Once this is done, I have to remember to take a picture." Ya well I keep forgetting. One of these days I will remember to take the pictures. But with that being said I did take pictures the other day of a project I was working on, a tutorial if you will. I'm gonna get that on here as soon as I can. I really just need to remember to take more pictures.
